dwellings was an exhibition in three parts where Canopy extended its existing exhibition space into the residential areas of the Malmgården building. For the project, a number of artists and filmmakers, were invited to work in dialogue with Malmgården, through presentations of works and interventions that touched on the history of the housing project, as well as its ideological context. Starting from Canopy’s gallery space at Ehrensvärdsgatan 1, visitors were led on a choreographed walk down through Malmgården’s vast system of basement corridors and storage spaces before continuing through the stairwell to the attic floor of Drottninggatan 6B, where the main part of the exhibition was presented.
